trawschrisna:

Have you ever wanted purple hair but didn’t want to put your hair through the damage and drama of bleaching it first? This is what I wanted to do.

I found a way that still works and looks great without the damage!

All you’ll need is the following:

*Container to mix dye in, gloves and shower cap or tin foil

*Dark purple and blue hair dye (I used Fudge Paintbox Blueberry Hill and Blue Velvet)

*Any conditioner

Mix some of the purple hair dye with the conditioner in the container and add a very small amount of blue to the mixture. This will prevent a redish tint in your hair. Use enough conditioner so that your whole head can be covered.

After making sure that your whole head is covered with the dye cover your head with either a shower cap or tin foil to keep the heat contained. This will make the color brighter.

Now you have to play the waiting game. Leave the dye in your hair for about 2.5 - 3 hours. Don’t worry this will not damage your hair because the hair dye is vegetable oil based.

After the 2.5 - 3 hours are up just rinse your hair until you feel like you have removed all the product. Then just towel dry your hair. Make sure that you use a dark towel because the color  will stain.

To maintain the color wash your hair every second night. Another tip is to add a little purple and a dash of blue dye to conditioner in a bottle so that you can use it after shampooing your hair. You don’t need to leave this in for 3 hours only for about 5 - 10 minutes.

It worked for me and hope it works for you :)
